PKWARE Names Jason Dobbs Chief Technology Officer and Subra Ramesh Chief Product Officer
C-suite appointments reflect company’s commitment to strategic growth of automated data security technology
MILWAUKEE – March 23, 2021 – PKWARE, a global leader in automated data security, today announced it has named Jason Dobbs as chief technology officer and Subra Ramesh as chief product officer. Dobbs, who was previously PKWARE’s vice president of product development, will be responsible for developing new processes and leading product integration to create a cohesive, industry-leading solution for data discovery and protection. Formerly the Executive Vice President of Products at Dataguise, which was acquired by PKWARE in November 2020, Ramesh will lead the execution and development of PKWARE’s integrated security product portfolio, as well as lead future product acquisition and development.
“We are committed to creating a world where seamless, transparent and comprehensive data security is the norm, and our product portfolio reflects that by offering solutions that automatically protect sensitive data no matter where it is stored and used,” said Spencer Kupferman, CEO of PKWARE. “Adding Jason and Ramesh’s expertise to our C-suite comes at a crucial time in our company’s history as we continue to develop and execute on our technology roadmap and product strategies to fulfill this mission for our valued customers and partners.”
Dobbs brings more than 20 years of experience in software and product development, including specific roles in IT, sales, leadership and management. He began his tenure at PKWARE by leading the innovation team. Prior to joining PKWARE, Dobbs held multiple leadership roles with SafeNet, most recently as a managing partner focused on corporate strategy. Previously, he was a vital part of several development teams, from launching software with startup Vesuvius Technologies to consulting on interactive technologies with Centare Group. Dobbs earned a Bachelor of Business degree in information systems from the University of Wisconsin.
With more than 25 years of experience in enterprise software product development, architecture and product management, particularly in the areas of distributed systems and security products, Ramesh has been responsible for the product features and direction at Dataguise, now PKWARE. Prior to this role, Ramesh held leadership positions at Hewlett-Packard, Informatica and Avaya. He holds four US patents with several others pending in the field of data security and earned the Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) designation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). In addition, he now serves as a board member for IAPP. Ramesh earned a Master of Science degree in engineering management from Stanford University and a Master of Science degree in computer science from Texas Tech University.
These appointments further build upon PKWARE’s strong momentum in 2020, including the addition of the Microsoft DKE capability and the increase of annual recurring revenue by more than 66 percent, which was driven by the addition of 170 new customers across a range of industries.
